All winners will receive a special Rosette & a Fantasia piece of etched glassware on a base, along with a crate towel with the BFCSD logo.
BOB will receive a beautiful crystal beaded large bowl donated by Gabriella Roselyn Coz on a base.

CHALLENGE TROPHIES:
Challenge Trophies must be won 3 times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog. Each show’s winner’s name will be adhered to an engraved plate affixed to the Trophy Base. If a winner has won 3 times at 3 different shows, they take home a (Commemorative Trophy). The complete Challenge Trophy topper and base stays in the possession of the BFCSD for future generations to enjoy.
The BFCSD will present at this event the Commemorative Trophies which are hand-blown swirled colored vases of varied sizes with a base, depending on the level of the win.
THE BFCSD HISTORICAL CHALLENGE TROPHIES WILL BE ON DISPLAY:
In June of 1964, the Bichon Frise came to America and became a beloved AKC registered breed in 1973. The breed is always described as “lively, intelligent, and commanding affection with whomever they associate.” — Barbara Stubbs, founding member.

THE FOUNDER’S CHALLENGE TROPHY: A Silver-Plated Wallace Punch Bowl Honoring Barbara Stubbs, Chaminade; Mayree Butler, Reenroy; and Gertrude Fournier, Cali-Col’s. Gifted to the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego, the challenge began in 2009.

THE TIM CARROLL, O’TOOLE THERAPY DOG MEMORIAL CHALLENGE TROPHY: A Cast Tray Honoring Tim Carroll and CH Chaleens Lochiel Chaminade, CGC, TDI. Gifted to the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego, the challenge began in 2011.

THE BEST OF WINNERS CHALLENGE TROPHY: A Silver Revere Bowl Honoring the Bichon Frise, gifted by the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego, starting in 2022.

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES COMPETITION

Sweepstakes Judge: TBD

Open to all Bichon Frise that are 6 months of age up to 18 months of age on the day of the show. Champions of Record dogs are NOT eligible. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class; however, the dogs need to be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers MAY NOT show any dog in Sweepstakes.

Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, accepted money for handling dogs at a dog show, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.

All entries in Puppy Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Class with Jack Bradshaw superintendent. Entries shall be made at the same time and on the same entry form as for Regular Classes. You must complete the regular AKC entry form and enter the words "PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES" in the box that says "Additional Classes".

Entry Fee for the Puppy Sweepstakes shall be $25.00, plus the entry fee for the Regular Class.

Winners of the 6 months up to 18-month classes will compete for Best in Puppy Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Puppy Sweepstakes. First through fourth place small Rosettes will be awarded in the Puppy Sweepstakes Classes.
Best in Puppy Sweepstakes will receive a Rosette along with a Fantasia etched glass piece on a base.
Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Puppy Sweepstakes will receive a Rosette, and a Fantasia etched piece of glass on a base.
SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE MONEY:

15% of the total entry fees will remain with the BFCSD for show expenses. The balance will be awarded in two (2) equal parts as follows:

AWARDS OF MERIT
The judge may award an Award of Merit to up to two of all specials entered in the Best of Breed competition. Recipients of the Award of Merit will receive a Rosette, and a Fantasia etched piece of glass on a base.
Best of Breed Owner Handled will receive Owner Handled points, a Rosette, and a Fantasia etched piece of glass on a base.

NEW TITLE HOLDER ROSETTES
Any Bichon Frise finishing an AKC Champion or Grand Champion title on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will receive a New Title Rosette from the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego.

VETERANS SWEEPSTAKES

Veterans Sweepstakes Judge: Tiffany Saxon

The Veterans Sweepstakes is open to all Bichon Frise that are 6 years of age or older on the day of the show.
-
Veterans Sweepstakes may be Champions or Non-Champions but must be AKC registered. They do not need to have a title of any kind and may be altered.
-
Winners will NOT go on to any placement in the rest of the show because of taking part in the Veterans Sweepstakes classes.
-
Dogs shown in the Veterans Sweepstakes need NOT enter in one of the regular classes nor do they need to pay the regular entry fee on the entry form.
-
There is a $25.00 entry fee.

Best of Breed Veteran in a Sweepstakes will be awarded a Rosette and a Fantasia piece of etched glass on a base, along with a table towel with BFCSD logo.
Best Opposite Sex to Best Veteran in a Sweepstakes will receive a Rosette & a Fantasia piece of etched glass on a base, along with a table towel with BFCSD logo.
First through fourth place will be awarded in the Veterans Sweepstakes classes a small rosette.
Prize money will be distributed as follows:

15% of the total entry fee will be kept for BFCSD expenses.

The rest will be divided into two (2) equal parts as follows:

Best Veteran in Sweepstakes (50%)

Best of Opposite Sex to Best Veteran (50%).

PARADE OF CHAMPIONS OR TITLE HOLDERS
This is a non-competitive parade in which the dog may or may not be entered in a regular class at this show; however, all dogs MUST be holders of an American Kennel Club Conformation, Working, or Performance Title.
Each entrant will receive a Large Rosette with the dog's name and titles printed on it.
Dogs must be pre-entered using the Jack Bradshaw Superintendent paper or online forms. Entry fee is $25.00 per dog.
You must complete the regular AKC entry form and enter the word "PARADE" in the box that says “Dog Show Class” if you are only entering the parade. If you are entering in the Conformation shows, then enter your usual class in the “Dog Show Class” box and then enter PARADE in the “ADDITIONAL CLASSES” box.
